Behind the Canvas

Young woman with painted arms holding paintbrushes, standing among blooming tree branches outdoors.

My name is Lindsay Bullis and I am a self-taught painter, muralist, and art instructor from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Using mainly acrylic paint on canvas as my medium I have spent years perfecting my technique to create a magical style that is uniquely my own.

With the use of vibrant hues, finely tuned accents, and a feeling of fluidity I create artwork that is captivating and dreamy. Nature, still life, and fantasy elements are frequent subjects of my work, combining them to create a unique visual experience that gives the observer a sense of escapism, surrealism, and nostalgia.

I also draw inspiration for my paintings from my experience as a mother and chronic illness survivor. Both have shaped me as a person and have been a catalyst for art that is deeper in meaning and relates to people in a personal way. I view painting to express my dreams, passions, and my own experience of the world around me. I aim to create art that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also meaningful in its message.
